Client Login - Access Control

My photographer friend needs a site where his clients can login and view their photos. This is a similar feature needed by many builders/contractors - anyone responsible for ongoing project development.
After a few minutes of searching my conclusion is to use node access modules. The Node Access Control API and the Content Access module seem to be the solution here.
